Lost Grove
Because of local moisture and temperature
variations, Giant Sequoia trees in the
Sierra Nevada grow only in limited areas,
which are known as groves. Sequoia
National Park contains 26 groves. Lost
Grove, which covers 54 acres, contains
over 400 giant Sequoias. There are no
record size trees in Lost Grove, but a short
hike on the trails above or below the
highway will disclose many handsome
specimens.
