About Tulare County
Tulare County occupies 4,839 square miles of the central valley of California, and the Sierra Nevadas. Sequoia National Park, and a portion of Kings Canyon National Park are located in Tulare County. The eastern boundary of the county follows the divide of the Sierra Nevadas, and these mountains cover most of the eastern half of the county, while the valley covers the western portion. It was formed in 1852 and the county seat is at Visalia.
